Siliguri, 15th October: Sensation prevailed in the area after the body of an individual was found in a blood-soaked state at the Dima Setu sector of National Highway (NH) 31 in the Garam Basti area of Kalchini earlier on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Gourab Mukherjee, a resident of Bholar Dabri in Alipurduar.
As per reports, Gourab worked as a security guard in a hotel in Alipurduar. On Saturday night, he informed his family members that he would return late. However, on Sunday, his lifeless body was recovered from the said area.
Acting on tip-off, the officials of Kalchini police station and Nimti Outpost promptly arrived at the scene and recovered the body. The police are currently engaged in a thorough investigation of the entire affair.
