Siliguri, 16th July: A blood donation camp was organized under the aegis of the Siliguri Police and Khalpara Out Post, on Saturday. Police Commissioner Gaurav Sharma was present as the chief guest in the said donation camp.
In this regard, DCP Joy Tudu stated that through the Utsarg project all the police stations have been instructed to conduct blood donation camps and engage in public service by the state Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The DCP further added that the demand for blood increases during the summer and through this campaign, the police department aims to collect enough blood to tackle scarcity in the blood banks.
