Siliguri, 21st May: A blood donation camp was organized by the Jalpaimore Traffic Guard of Siliguri under the ‘Utsarg’ project in a private building on Burdwan Road, in collaboration with Siliguri Terai Lions Blood Bank. The camp was inaugurated by Siliguri Police Commissioner Gaurav Sharma. Many police personnel donated blood to this camp.
In this regard, Police Commissioner Gaurav Sharma stated that blood donation camps are being organized every Saturday by different police stations of Siliguri Metropolitan Police to tackle the shortage in blood banks.
Further, he added that Mega blood donation camps will be organized at various places including various police stations and traffic guards from 23rd May 2022. The main motive of the initiative is to overcome the blood crisis prevailing in the area.
