BJYM stage sit-in protest demanding municipal and sub-divisional council elections

Siliguri, 19th December: The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) Siliguri organizational district staged a sit-in protest demanding immediate municipal and sub-divisional council elections.

It has been learned that BJP activists staged a protest at Hashmi Chowk under the leadership of Siliguri MLA Shankar Ghosh. They presented their demands with placards in their hands.

Shankar Ghosh demanded immediate elections and said that the current ruling party Trinamool Congress has turned elections and democracy into a farce. Panchayat and municipal elections must be held within five years. The present ruling party is looting the panchayats and municipalities by positioning the losers in the local administration. As a result, people are getting into trouble.
