BJP’s Uttarkanya Campaign: Huge police force deployed across the city

Siliguri, 07th December: The police officials are active since morning to stop the Uttarkanya campaign called by Bharatiya Janata Party’s Youth Wing today.

Reportedly, two rallies have been organized-one from Jalpaimore to Uttarkanya and the other from Fulbari to Uttarkanya.  Hence, the Fulbari canal bridge has been barricaded since morning and section 144 has been imposed in the area. Strict police action will be taken if mass gatherings are held.

A large police force has been deployed to obstruct the rallies. Iron and bamboo barricades have been set up at various places along the road. If required, tear gas and water cannons will be used to prevent any untoward incident.

It is to be noted that BJP’s Uttarkanya Abhiyan will commence this afternoon, where multiple state leaders as well as central leaders will be present.

Meanwhile, BJP state president Dilip Ghosh reached Siliguri to join the BJP’s Uttarkanya Abhiyan. Ghosh alleged that his car was blocked while heading towards the guest house from the railway station.

So many people are attending political rallies on daily basis. How are they earning daily for themselves and their families. Where is the leader who will show the correct vision of life to these people. Hard work, sincerity towards their personal responsibilities are forgotten issues in West Bengal. No leader is talking of development. The urgent need for recurring flood control, employment generation through investments etc. are totally ignored. Bengali population must take note of the overall situation.
