BJP worker’s shop set on fire in Cooch Behar, party blames Trinamool

Cooch Behar, 2nd August: Allegations of setting fire to a BJP worker’s shop have been raised against the Trinamool Congress. The case surfaced from the Nagarkhana area under the Boxirhat/Bakshirhat police station of Tufanganj assembly constituency. However, local Trinamool region president Sujit Ghosh denied all allegations.

BJP Yuva Morcha leader Uttam Barma alleged that his betel farm was also set ablaze by Trinamool miscreants after the assembly election results were out. Once again, on Sunday night, his shop at Nagarkhana market, which he had given on rent, was allegedly set on fire.

The owner of the shop said that the fire caused a loss of lakhs of rupees. On the other hand, the fire engine and Boxirhat police reached the spot as soon as the news of the incident was received. Police are probing the whole matter.
