BJP-TMC clash in Bagdogra over COVID vaccination

Siliguri, 22nd June: Dispute between two political parties in Bagdogra created an atmosphere of tension on Tuesday. Later, the police reached the spot and normalized the situation.

It has been learned that many people had lined up at the vaccination centre of Upper Bagdogra Girls School, this morning. However, as only 200 people were given tokens, a dispute broke out between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Trinamool Congress (TMC). Later, the situation was normalized with police intervention.

On behalf of BJP, Lakshmi Sharma said that last night, they learned that 300 people would be vaccinated. But today, only 200 people were given tokens. The BJP workers accused TMC of giving fewer tokens.

On the other hand, the TMC workers said that although the health department had earlier informed that 200 people will be vaccinated, the BJP activists tried to escalate the situation by promising to vaccinate 300 people.
