Rajganj, 28th July: BJP leaders and workers staged a protest at Shikarpur Gram Panchayat in Rajganj, alleging irregularities and corruption in the panchayat’s functioning. During the protest, TMC panchayat members and leaders were targeted with eggs, creating tension in the panchayat premises.
According to reports, BJP workers went to the office of Shikarpur Gram Panchayat Pradhan Prabha Kujur and protested over alleged irregularities. During the demonstration, eggs were thrown at TMC panchayat members and leaders, following which an uneasy situation developed in the area.
The BJP alleged that development works were not being carried out properly and claimed that casual staff of the gram panchayat were also not performing their duties effectively. They further alleged that work related to Annapurna Yojana had not been completed.
Police from Belakoba Outpost reached the spot after receiving information about the incident and brought the situation under control.
