BJP accuses opposition of ignoring protocols amid pandemic, demands immediate government action

Siliguri, 09th July: The BJP district leaders accused the state government of carrying out needless politics amid pandemic and alleged that the representatives of the state’s ruling party are not abiding by the health rules. Several BJP leaders approached the District Magistrate in this regard and requested the government to take required actions. A memorandum was also handed over to the DM.


Siliguri Organizational BJP District President Prabin Agarwal also accused the health department officials of giving more priority to the party workers concerning COVID-19 treatment.

Agarwal alleged that while the TMC activists receive their COVID-19 test reports within 24 hours of getting tested, the general public is deprived of such facilities and are suffering a lot in such a difficult time. Due to the delay in receiving the test reports, many patients have also lost their lives.


He further stated that despite the center’s railway department having a capacity to provide services to 160-bed COVID-19 patients, the state government is not making proper use of it. the BJP District President, therefore, urged the state government to focus on health issues without escalating unnecessary party quarrels. He also recommended Minister Goutam Deb to avoid public gatherings and carry out virtual activities.

On the other hand, Rathindranath Bose, the existing President of state BJP, stated that the state government has failed miserably in dealing with the pandemic so far. He immediately demanded the resignation of the Chief Minister.
