Biswa Bangla logo statue removed from Darjeeling More in Siliguri

Siliguri, 25th May: The Biswa Bangla logo statue installed near Darjeeling More in Siliguri was removed on Monday, marking a visible change at one of the city’s key junctions.

According to reports, the structure, installed a few years ago at a cost of several lakhs, was taken down following administrative action. The move comes amid ongoing political discussions in West Bengal over changes in state symbols and branding associated with previous government initiatives.

It is being claimed in political circles that several public installations and state branding elements linked to the previous administration’s “Biswa Bangla” identity are being gradually replaced or removed, with national symbols “Ashoka Emblem” being used in official contexts.

However, there has been no official confirmation regarding any broader policy directive specifically connected to this change at Darjeeling More.
