Alipurduar, 09th April: In an alarming incident, a bison wreaked havoc in the New Hasimara area of the Kalchini block under the Alipurduar district leaving an individual severely injured.
According to reports, the bison emerged from the Jaldapara forest and entered the residential area on Tuesday earlier in the morning. Upon sighting the bison, the residents were alarmed and immediately evacuated the area. Subsequently, the locals attempted the drive the animal away from the populated area. Despite their efforts, an individual suffered severe injuries after encountering the bison attack.
The injured was promptly rescued and transported to Alipurduar Hospital for medical treatment. Meanwhile, the forest officials were alerted of the incident. The officials arrived at the location and successfully rescued the bison with the aid of a JCB vehicle.
