Cooch Behar, 19th April: Sensation prevailed after a bison entered the North Marichbari area under Cooch Behar-2 Kholta Marichbarri Gram Panchayat on Sunday morning.
Meanwhile, a crowd of people gathered to see the wild animal ignoring the ongoing lockdown.
Upon receiving the news, the Forest Department officials and the Pundibari police reached the spot and rescued the animal after hours of effort.
The forest workers primarily assumed that the wild animal might have come out of the Chilapata forest and that it would be released into the forest soon.
