Alipurduar, 12th March: A bison strayed into a locality from the deep forest, injuring two people in an attack. The injured individuals have been identified as Shanti Tirki and Nitesh Oraon.
As per reports, the incident occurred on Wednesday morning in the Nangdala Tea Estate area of Madarihat under Birpara block of Alipurduar district. Among the injured, one is a woman.
Upon receiving information, forest officials from Dalgaon Range and personnel from Birpara police station reached the spot. Later, the bison moved into the Dimdima Tea Garden. Efforts are underway by forest officials to rescue the animal.
