Siliguri, 13th July: A youth has been arrested in Siliguri on the charges of murdering a gold trader in Balurghat. The arrested accused has been identified as Subham Kumar, a resident of Vaishali in Bihar.
It has been learned that Pradeep Karmakar, a gold trader from Hili in Balurghat, was shot dead on Friday. The Police launched investigations and arrested three people in connection with the incident. However, several others involved in the incident were absconding.
Police conducted search operations and learned that an accused was hiding in Siliguri. Following which, the Balurghat police arrested Subham Kumar from the Bagdogra Lifeline area with the help of Bagdogra police.
