Big success for DRI: 2 kg of gold worth lakhs recovered, one person arrested in Siliguri

Siliguri, 21st November: A team of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) recovered 12 pieces of gold biscuits before they could be smuggled. One person, identified as Nasir Ahmed, was arrested in this incident.


According to the information, Nasir Ahmed was carrying 12 pieces of gold biscuits in a special waistband belt from Guwahati to Kolkata. However, before he could reach Kolkata, the DRI apprehended the smuggler in Siliguri with the gold.

According to DRI sources, the total weight of the recovered gold is said to be 2 kg and the market value to be around lakhs of rupees. Ahmed was presented in the Siliguri court today. DRI investigation of the whole matter is going on.
