Phansidewa, 28th November: Bidhannagar police recovered a large quantity of counterfeit liquor during a raid in the Sadargachh area of Phansidewa. The driver of the container was arrested in the incident. The arrested accused has been identified as Ashok Kumar (20), a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
According to police sources, a container loaded with pineapple was seized in the Sadargachh area of Phansidewa, on Sunday morning. A large quantity of counterfeit liquor worth lakhs was recovered from the vehicle. It has been learned that the liquor was being smuggled to Bihar.
He was produced to Siliguri sub-divisional court on Sunday.
