Siliguri, 04th February: A bicyclist was crushed to death under the wheels of a truck on Friday afternoon. The incident surfaced from the Ambikanagar underpass under NJP police station.
Reportedly, the bicyclist was hit by a cement-laden truck from behind. He was severely injured and rushed to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
After the incident, the agitated crowd vandalized the vehicle. Upon receiving the news, a large police force of the NJP police station reached the spot and brought the situation under control. The driver of the vehicle was arrested. Meanwhile, police are trying to find out the identity of the deceased person. An investigation has been launched.
