Rajganj, 29th July: In a bid to strengthen security and improve crime prevention, Bhorer Alo Police Station under the Siliguri Metropolitan Police has launched an initiative urging traders to install CCTV cameras at their shops and business establishments.
Officer-in-Charge Sudip Dutta visited shops and commercial establishments in Ambari, Sahudangi and nearby areas, where he interacted with traders and encouraged them to install CCTV cameras.
According to police, CCTV cameras not only enhance the security of business establishments but also play a crucial role in ensuring the overall safety of an area. In the event of theft, robbery, criminal attacks or any other untoward incident, CCTV footage enables police to begin investigations quickly and helps in identifying those involved.
Police have requested traders to install CCTV cameras covering the entrance of their establishments as well as the road in front of their premises.
Local traders welcomed the initiative, stating that it would help improve security and assist police in maintaining law and order.
