Bhaktinagar Police bust gang of mobile phone snatchers, three arrested

Siliguri, 08th September: A team of Bhaktinagar Police Station busted a gang involved in snatching of mobile phones and other valuables, riding a two-wheeler, in and around Sevoke Road. The three accused persons arrested have been identified as Rupesh Subba and Arjun Singh of Bikashnagar and Reshab Lepcha of Salugara.


According to the information, incidents of mobile snatching had increased in various areas under Bhakti Nagar police station in the last few days. During the investigation of the case, the police came to know about a gang that mostly targeted the passersby talking on the mobile phone. The miscreants would snatch the phone and flee away one they got an opportunity. 

After gathering information, SI Srimanto Chatterjee and PSI Sailesh Subba, In-charge of the crime wing of Bhakti Nagar police station, jointly developed a special plan and laid traps to nab the crooks. 


On Tuesday night, the undercover cops launched the plan and caught the aforementioned persons from the area. One scooty used by the miscreants in the execution of the crime was also recovered and seized. After registering a case against the accused, the police presented the trio in Jalpaiguri court today. Police are probing this whole matter.
