Siliguri, 11th February: In a recent development, the officials of the Bhakti Nagar police station arrested an individual in unlawful possession of a firearm. The accused arrested has been identified as Nitai Rajbanshi alias Pocha, a resident of the Eastern Bypass area.
As per reports, the Bhakti Nagar police received a tip-off about an individual questionably loitering around the Payal Cinema Hall area. Subsequently, the cops launched an operation and immediately arrested the accused individual.
Police sources revealed that the accused was a warranted criminal and was roaming in the area with the intention to engage in criminal activity. The Bhakti Nagar police registered a case against the accused on charges of illegal possession of a firearm and produced him in Jalpaiguri Court on Sunday.
