Alipurduar, 29th June: A betel nut orchard was severely damaged after a herd of three elephants went on a rampage in Madarihat, late Monday night.
Reportedly, the trio entered the East Madarihat area from the Jaldapara forest and destroyed several trees in a betel nut orchard. Speaking on the event, Prasenjit Roy, a resident of the area, said that no casualties were reported in the incident.
