Bengal’s Swasthya Sathi scheme helps 35-year old recover completely from a complex disease

Siliguri, 16th September: The state’s Swasthya Sathi scheme helped an ailing man recover completely from a complex disease.

Mohammad Alam Haque (35), a resident of Binnaguri in Jalpaiguri district, was suffering from spinal cord disease for the past few years. However, he was deprived of proper treatment due to the family’s poor financial condition. Despite approaching several places, no help was received. At last, they approached the administrator of Siliguri Municipal Corporation Goutam Deb.

With the former minister’s help, the ailing man underwent surgery at a private hospital in Kolkata through the state’s Swasthya Sathi scheme.

Nusreha Begum, the wife of Mohammad Alam Haque, visited the SMC office on Thursday and thanked Goutam Deb for his initiative.
