Bengal Minister Suvendu Adhikari quits State Cabinet

Kolkata, 27th November: Suvendu Adhikari, rebel TMC leader and the State Minister in Charge of Transport, Irrigation, and Water resource, on Friday, resigned as transport minister from the Mamata Banerjee government.


Adhikari wrote to the Chief Minister today and emailed a copy of the letter to Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar.


In his resignation letter, Adhikari wrote that he is resigning from his office as minister and “steps may be taken for its immediate acceptance”. He also wrote to the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee that “I thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve the people of the State, which I did all through with a commitment, dedication, and sincerity.”
