Siliguri, 14th April: The historic festival “Bar Puja” was celebrated at Kangchenjunga Stadium in Siliguri on the first day of Bengali New Year. The event was organized on behalf of the Siliguri Department of Sports Council at the Kangchenjunga Sports Ground.
This is a ritual where the football goal posts on either end are worshiped, which depict the starting of a new football season.
