Siliguri, 26th June: Awareness rallies were organised in Siliguri on the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse through joint initiatives of Ashighar Outpost, Farabari Mahadev Sporting Club and Ashighar Sub Traffic Guard.
On Friday morning, an awareness rally jointly organised by Ashighar Outpost and Farabari Mahadev Sporting Club commenced from the Ashighar Outpost premises. Police personnel, club members, local residents and school students participated in the rally.
The rally passed through various important roads in the area, with participants spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drug addiction and urging people to stay away from narcotics.
Meanwhile, Ashighar Sub Traffic Guard also organised a separate awareness rally involving school students in different parts of the city. Through slogans, songs and awareness messages, the students appealed for the creation of a drug-free society.
Traffic police personnel also joined the students and interacted with members of the public to raise awareness about the adverse effects of substance abuse.
