Audio recorder found in WBSEDCL office in Siliguri, investigation underway

Siliguri, 02nd April: A shocking case of alleged surveillance has surfaced at the WBSEDCL office in Milanpally, after an audio recorder was discovered inside the station manager’s chamber, triggering concern among officials and administrative circles.

According to available information, the device was first noticed on March 17 behind a chair in the chamber of station manager Prashant Kumar Mahato. Upon inspection, it was identified an audio recorder, raising suspicion that conversations inside the room were being secretly recorded.

Following the discovery, CCTV footage was reviewed, which reportedly showed an employee entering and exiting the chamber multiple times in a suspicious manner. It is suspected that the device may have been planted inside the room during night hours.

In a concerning development, a similar recording device had also been reportedly recovered earlier on March 6, making this the second such incident and intensifying the seriousness of the matter.

Questions are now being raised over the motive behind the alleged surveillance, whether it is linked to an internal dispute, personal enmity, or part of a larger conspiracy.

The station manager has lodged a written complaint with the cyber police station. Police along with cyber experts are investigating the case from all angles, and questioning of the suspected employee is likely. The probe is currently underway.
