Ashraf Nagar case update: Four arrested youths taken into police custody for 6 days

Siliguri, 03rd September: Four arrested youths Guddu alias MD Ashique Ali, Subhajit Roy alias Gopal, Pemba Tamang, and Subham Mahato have been remanded in police custody for six days.


It is to be noted that on August 23 night, some miscreants namely Guddu alias Mohammad Ashique Ali from Asrafinagar, Amrinder Singh alias Harmit from Champasari, Subhajit Roy alias Gopal from Pareshnagar, Pemba Tamang from Kamala Nagar, Subham Mahato of Bhupendra Nagar, and others had forcefully entered into a house with iron rods, swords, and firearms. The gang also stole away several articles from the house.

The video of the criminals committing the act was caught in a CCTV camera installed nearby. The footage was carefully scrutinized and a specific case under the relevant sections of the IPC and Arms Act was registered at Bhaktinagar Police Station. The case was immediately transferred to the Detective Department of Siliguri Police Commissionerate on the order of the Ld Commissioner of Police Siliguri.


A police team of the Detective Department and Special Operation Group (SOG) SPC conducted raids at Delhi and Gurugram areas and was successful in nabbing four miscreants namely Md Ashique, Subhajit, Pemba Tamang, and Subham Mahato on September 02 from their hideout in Gurugram.

All the four accused persons were produced before the Ld Court at Gurugram and taken into transit remand. They have been brought to Siliguri yesterday. Another accused person named Amrinder Singh has already been arrested on August 31 and is presently in police remand.
