Ashok Bhattacharya inspects Kiran Chandra crematorium

Siliguri, 08th September: Siliguri Municipal Corporation has commenced the beautification work for Kiran Chandra crematorium. A high lighthouse has already been installed at a cost of 8.5 lakh rupees from the Siliguri MLA Development Fund. Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha members and Siliguri MLA fund provided financial assistance in this regard.


Reportedly, the crematorium will be renovated at a cost of around 1.5 crore rupees. Apart from installing a new chimney in the electric furnace, beautification work will be carried out with the allocated amount.

Ashok Bhattacharya, chairman of the BoA at SMC, visited the crematorium on Tuesday. He stated that renovation will be carried out soon. Besides, the issue of police security is also being looked into. He further stated that a letter has been sent to the Commissioner of Police in this regard.
