Ashok Bhattacharya inspects bridge construction work in Ward No. 47

Siliguri, 04th November: A concrete bridge is being constructed in Ward No. 47 under the initiative of Siliguri Municipal Corporation. The locals are happy with the initiative taken.

Reportedly, Ward No. 47 connects Siliguri and Matigara. Several high schools have been set up in the area. Students from different areas study in these schools. However, due to the Panchnai river being situated in the same area, the students face difficulties in their daily commute.

Due to the increase in the water level during the rainy season, the students need to walk to reach their school. Intending to provide a solution in this regard, SMC has decided to build a concrete bridge at a cost of Rs 1.25 crore.

Ashok Bhattacharya reached the area on Wednesday to inspect the bridge’s construction work. He said that SMC is likely to provide the bridge as a gift to the students before Kali Puja.
