Rajganj, 03rd August: ASHA workers protested for their demands at different places around the state and also in front of Rajganj Rural Hospital. On this day the Rajganj Block Committee of West Bengal Ashakarmi Union staged a sit-in demonstration. Around 220 ASHA workers from different areas of Rajganj joined the protest.
The protesters stated that they are demonstrating in support of several demands including recognition as a government employee, a minimum monthly salary of Rs 21 thousand, arrangement of their leave like all government employees. If the said demands are not accepted, the agitation will continue warned the protesting ASHA workers.
