Bidhannagar, 27th July: Tension spread in Bidhannagar under Phansidewa after a driver died following a sudden health issue. The deceased has been identified as Lal Chand, a resident of Maharashtra.
According to reports, after delivering a consignment of guava from Maharashtra to Siliguri, Lal Chand parked his vehicle near a petrol pump in Bidhannagar. He was scheduled to load pineapples from Bidhannagar and travel to Jamshedpur.
On Monday morning, some workers noticed that he was unwell and took him to Bidhannagar Primary Health Centre. However, doctors on duty declared him dead.
Following the incident, police from Bidhannagar Investigation Centre under Phansidewa reached the spot and recovered the body.
The body was later sent to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for post-mortem examination.
Police have started an investigation to determine the exact cause of the driver’s death.
