Alipurduar, 25th May: The Alipurduar district administration and the city administration are gearing up to deal with the potential threat of cyclonic storm ‘Yaas’ that is developing in the Bay of Bengal.
Alipurduar Municipality Administrator Mihir Dutta, Sub-Divisional Officer Priyadarshini Bhattacharya and District Magistrate Surendra Kumar Meena took stock of the city’s Flood Center today.
Municipality Administrator Mihir Dutta said that the water level of the river rises due to heavy rains. Therefore, the sluice gates have been reviewed. While the DM visited part of the dam, the Disaster Management Department is also on high alert.
