ALERT: Drinking water services to be disrupted in Siliguri on December 13 and 14

Siliguri, 09th December: Siliguri Municipal Corporation administrator Goutam Deb addressed the media on Thursday and informed that drinking water services will be disrupted in the city on December 13 and 14. However, SMC has taken alternative measures in this regard.

Reportedly, Goutam Deb held an emergency meeting on drinking water supply in the presence of Alok Chakraborty, a member of the BoA and in-charge of the water department in SMC.

The Fulbari canal will be repaired on December 13 and 14 for a proper supply of drinking water in the SMC area. Therefore, the water supply will be cut off for half-day on December 13 and a full day on December 14.

In this regard, Goutam Deb said that all the alternative measures have been taken to ensure that the citizens do not face any water crisis due to the disruption of the water supply. Meanwhile, 45 pick-up vans, 1.5 lakh water packets, 45 PVC water tanks, and 65 workers have been deployed for this work.
