Jalpaiguri, 24th May: Siliguri Metropolitan Police formed an all women squad to curb crime against women. Lauding the SMP’s move, the CM directed all police commissionerates in the State to raise similar squads. The squad was earlier named “Tejasvini”, however, the Chief Minister renamed the squad “Winners.”
Taking forward the initiative, the Winners squad was formed through a program at Jalpaiguri Police Station More under the initiative of the District Police. This special team consists of 20 trained women police personnel. Any complaint of crime against women can be lodged by calling on 9083270517. Several police officers were present at the event.
