Jalpaiguri, 15th June: The previous night’s heavy rainfall increased the water level of Sukhani river and caused water pooling on the road connecting the Sukhani bridge under Nagrakata block. Following this, traffic from Manmohandhura to Nagrakata has come to a standstill since this morning.
It is to be noted, a part of the bridge built on Sukhani river collapsed three years ago and has been lying in such a condition since then. Only the connecting road was constructed by the administration. Now, after the incessant overnight rainfall, the said road has been washed. All of which are causing great inconveniences to the residents of the area are once again.
