Cooch Behar, 27th January: An adult leopard was rescued from the residential area of Kalabagan in Ward No. 03 under the Cooch Behar Municipality. As of now, the leopard has been taken to the Jaldapara Range Office. After a health check-up, the leopard will be released in the wild.
According to the report, the locals came across footprints of the leopard, this morning. Immediately after the wild animal was spotted, the police and forest department were informed.
The Cooch Behar Police and forest personnel reached the spot and after several hours of effort, the forest personnel tranquillized and rescued the leopard. It is being assumed that the leopard might have entered the residential area in search of food.
