Siliguri, 08th June: While traffic congestion was becoming a menace in the city, the Siliguri Metropolitan Police installed new traffic signals on various roads to tackle the situation. The signals were put up on various routes including Sevoke Road, Bidhan Road, Hillcart Road and Burdwan Road.
Allegedly, people were facing trouble due to the consecutive traffic signals at close range. They complained of taking more time to reach their destination. As the outrage grew, police decided to remove the traffic signals at some places. New poles installed in many places were removed on Tuesday night. While a few others are being removed from other parts of the city today.
