Jalpaiguri, 19th March: Three people lost their lives and over 25 people injured in an accident that occurred at the Singimari area of Maynaguri block in Jalpaiguri, on Thursday night. The incident created a stir in the entire area.
Reportedly, a potato-laden tractor collided with a passenger bus around 10 on Thursday night, injuring several people. Following this, the accident victims were rescued and rushed to a local hospital. The critically injured patients were further referred to Jalpaiguri Super Specialty Hospital and North Bengal Medical College-Hospital. Upon receiving the news, the Maynaguri Police reached the spot and recovered two vehicles.
After the incident, Jalpaiguri Yuva Trinamool President Saikat Chattopadhyay, District-in-council President Dulal Debnath, and former councillor of Jalpaiguri Ward No. 03 as well as social activist Swarup Mandal assured to assist the mourning families of the deceased.
