Jalpaiguri, 14th January: Sensation prevailed after a person was killed in an accident at the National Highway in Goshala More of Jalpaiguri on Monday night.
According to local sources, the deceased was heading towards the city on his bicycle when a speeding truck, heading from Assam More, drove over him and killed him on the spot. The truck driver has been absconding since the incident and the deceased has not yet been identified. The incident created a stir in the area.
Upon receiving the news, huge police forces, including IC Biswasroy Sarkar and Traffic OC Santa Shil, recovered the body and brought the situation under control. The police are investigating the matter.
