Islampur, 31st May: Three people, including former councillor of Islampur municipality and BJP leader Ayan Chandra, were killed and one injured in a tragic road accident that occurred at NH-31 near Tutbagan in Ramganj area under Islampur police station.
According to local sources, a small vehicle was heading towards Islampur from Siliguri. During which, it rammed into a 10-wheeler truck parked at the said area killing 3 on the spot. The driver of the vehicle was injured in the incident.
After the incident, the locals rescued the driver and rushed him to Islampur Sub-Divisional Hospital. Meanwhile, the police reached the spot after receiving the news. Police recovered the body and sent it for an autopsy.
