Siliguri, 26th May: Tension reportedly broke out at Siliguri College on Monday over the setting up of a help desk for the admission process, leading to a political controversy on campus.
Following the incident, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) submitted a memorandum to Siliguri Police Station. The organisation has alleged that members of the Trinamool Chhatra Parishad (TMCP) attacked ABVP members during the incident.
ABVP has strongly condemned the incident and demanded strict action against those involved. The organisation has urged authorities to conduct an impartial and swift investigation, identify the attackers immediately, and initiate strict legal action.
They have also demanded full security for students and ABVP members within the college campus, along with measures to prevent similar incidents of political violence in and around educational institutions in the future.
