ABVP stages sit-in protest at North Bengal University

Siliguri, 03rd August: Stir arose in North Bengal University on Wednesday due to the protest by ABVP members who staged a sit-in in front of North Bengal University's Gate No-2, demanding cancellation of PSD of SSC scam accused Partha Chatterjee. However, BJP also staged a protest on Tuesday with the same demand.


 


On seeing the protest of ABVP, the administration had put barricades in front of the gate. However, the protesters tried entering the university by breaking the barricades causing a stir in the area. During this, a clash broke out between the police and the ABVP workers. After which 09 supporters of ABVP were taken into custody by the police.

On the other hand, the Trinamool Chhatra Parishad opposed the protest from the other side of the gate. After which the university campus was stirred even more by the scuffle and sloganeering between the members of Trinamool Chhatra Parishad and ABVP.
