ABVP protest demanding removal of Vice-Chancellor of North Bengal University

Siliguri, 17th June: Alleging that the North Bengal University has now become a hotspot for corruption, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) activists protested near the Mahatma Gandhi statue at Court More.

In this context, ABVP State Secretary Subhabrata Adhikari stated that the university is the pride of North Bengal but because of the present Vice-Chancellor Subires Bhattacharya, it has become an arena of corruption. He stated that the students will not tolerate such acts. Furthermore, all the members of ABVP will continue the agitation until the VC is removed. Reportedly, the police stopped the protesters from burning the effigy of the VC.
