Siliguri, 09 February: The members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) of the Siliguri Organizational District took to the streets demanding cancellation of the job of the school teacher involved in the minor student sexual assault case.
It is to be noted that the accused teacher Mohammad Alam, accused of sexual harassment was arrested by the police and presented before the Siliguri Divisional Court, after being discharged from the nursing home.
In this regard, the minor’s father accused the teacher’s family of pressurizing him to withdraw the case and compromise. However, they demanded strict punishment for the accused.
Reportedly, on Friday, the members of ABVP of the Siliguri Organizational District demonstrated demanding the accused teacher’s job termination. The protestors demonstrated in front of the office of the District Inspector of Schools in Siliguri and later submitted a memorandum. In this regard, the District School Inspector stated that the matter would be raised with the higher authorities.
