In a major party’s organisational reshuffle, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Saturday appointed Diamond Harbour MP Abhishek Banerjee, nephew of West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, as the party’s national general secretary.
Here are the highlights of the first meeting of the TMC’s working committee following the West Bengal Assembly election 2021:
- Saayoni Ghosh has been appointed as the President of All India Trinamool Youth Congress
- MP Dola Sen is now the All India President of the Indian National Trinamool Trade Union Congress (INTTUC)
- Ritabrata Banerjee appointed as TMC’s state INTTUC general secretary
- TMC MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar has been appointed as the president of the party’s Mahila Morcha
- Party veteran Purnendu Bose has been made president of the TMC’s Farmers’ wing – Khet Mazdoor Cell.
- TMC leader Kunal Ghosh appointed as the party’s state general secretary.
- Bang Janani Vahini will be chaired by Mala Roy
