Siliguri, 08th June: An unclaimed bag triggered a bomb scare at PC Mittal bus stand under the Bhakti Nagar police station area, last night. The brown suitcase was found lying at the bus stand premises late at night. As the news spread like wildfire, the Bhakti Nagar police under the leadership of IC Amresh Singh reached the spot.
Acting promptly, the team evacuated the area immediately and called the CID Bomb Squad. After checking for about an hour, the suitcase was opened but it turned out to be containing some clothes and documents.
According to police sources, the suitcase was found lying unattended late at night at the bus stand hence triggering the suspicion of a bomb. The police called in the CID Bomb Squad to avoid taking any risk. Meanwhile, the search is on for the owner of the suitcase.
