88 cattle rescued before smuggling, five arrested in Phansidewa

Phansidewa, 09th December: Another case of cattle smuggling case has come to the fore in which five smugglers were arrested. 


Reportedly, the cops of Phansidewa police station seized three trucks during Naka checking on Thursday night. On conducting a search of the said seized trucks 88 cattle were rescued from it. After this, the police arrested five people on the charges of cattle smuggling.

The arrested accused have been identified as Naushad Ali, Surendra Yadav, Mohammad Junaid, Mazarul Haq, and Mohammad Wasim Akram. According to police sources, the recovered cattle were being smuggled from Bihar to Assam. At the same time, today the five arrested accused have been produced in the Siliguri sub-divisional court. 


It is to be noted that on Wednesday, six people, including a police constable, were arrested for smuggling 32 cattle.
