Rajganj, 24th September: A massive 8-foot-long python was rescued from a bamboo grove in the Mahanpara area of Sukhani Gram Panchayat, Rajganj block, on Tuesday morning.
Reportedly, local residents spotted the snake in the middle of a tea garden and promptly alerted the Green Jalpaiguri Voluntary Organization. Ankur Das, Secretary of the organization, and Vivek Jha, Sports Secretary, arrived at the scene and successfully rescued the python by cutting through the bamboo.
The Burmese python, measuring eight feet in length, will be handed over to the forest department for further care and relocation.
