Fulbari, 16th July: The preparations for the Fulbari Battala Durga Puja began on the auspicious occasion of Rath Yatra with the traditional ‘Khutti Puja’. Entering its 44th year, the puja committee has announced its theme “Asun Ektu Bhabna Niye Jaan” (Take a thought with you) for this year.
Known as one of the major attractions of Durga Puja in the Siliguri suburban area and Rajganj block, Fulbari Battala Durga Puja Committee is preparing to compete with prominent pujas of the city with a grand celebration this year.
The main focus of this year’s theme is to spread awareness about environmental conservation and the importance of protecting nature. Keeping this message in mind, the puja pandal will be constructed using completely natural materials.
Durga Puja Committee President Ashish Pramanik said that the puja is entering its 44th year and the theme has been selected to highlight the message of environmental protection. He added that the pandal will be made using natural elements, along with an idol from Kumartuli in Kolkata and attractive lighting arrangements.
The organisers have started preparations to provide visitors with a unique experience during the days of the festival.
