Siliguri, 16th July: The ‘Khutti Puja’ ceremony for the ‘Boro Maa’ Kali Puja of Siliguri’s Mahamaya Sporting Club was held, marking the beginning of preparations for its fourth year celebration.
According to club sources, the 27-foot-tall idol of ‘Boro Maa’ will once again be the main attraction of the puja, similar to last year.
The organisers have planned various arrangements for devotees during the puja days, including prasad distribution, cultural programmes, attractive lighting and other special events. The organisers expect thousands of visitors to attend the celebration this year.
Club members, local residents and several devotees were present during the ‘Khutti Puja’ ceremony.
Mahamaya Sporting Club General Secretary Dulal Pal said, “Boro Maa Kali Puja is not just a religious event, it is an emotion and a gathering point for the people of our area. Every year, we try to bring something new.”
